Smokey
was the winner in 2000 of the Budlight’s Comedian of the
Year competition - this comedy dynamo packs a powerful punch
of laughter.
Born and raised in Harlem, NY the oldest of four
brothers with an African-American mother and a Hispanic
father, Smokey grew up with plenty to talk about, being the
class clown.
Smokey always knew he wanted to be a comedian.
“When I was eleven years old, I went to my
grandfather’s house one weekend and I snuck and listened to
one of his comedy albums, Richard Pryor’s “Is That Nig**
Crazy.”
At that point, he knew what he wanted to do for the
rest of this life.
You can currently see Smokey on this seasons and last
seasons BET’s Comic View, It’s Showtime at the Apollo and
in the upcoming movie Paper Soldiers with Roc-A-Fella and
Universal Pictures.
Smokey is definitely one to watch for in the new
millennium. |
